Finnish mobile gaming giant Supercell has soft-launched the latest spin-off of its Clash of Clans franchise, Clash Quest, in the Nordic region. Announcing the launch on Twitter, the new title marks an important divergence from Supercell's previous modus operandi, with the company choosing to spotlight games still in development and soft-launch. The company has built a reputation for success but also ruthlessness to act and kill games not that don't meet their exacting expectations.

Explaining their new strategy, Supercell said "we usually don’t spotlight games that are deep in the development process, however, considering these are all Clash games, we hope our community finds this as exciting as we do!

For starters, we want Clash’s community to be a part of this journey. Clash wouldn’t be where it is today without the support from players and content creators around the world. With these potential new games coming, we want you to experience them as they evolve – either directly through playing them (for those that can), and/or through the communities that’ll grow early on."

In the same statement Supercell makes clear that despite being Clash spin-offs, should the games including Clash Quest not perform "we’ll kill them and move on to other attempts." Supercell have also confirmed that there are non-Clash titles in development.
