UK hypercasual games publisher Kwalee has projected it will invest $30million over the next five years into its Indian studio based in Bangalore. The studio, set up in 2020, already employs 50 staff, having being assembled remotely due to the ongoing pandemic. The investment will mean a significant expansion of operations in Bangalore with Kwalee currently advertising 80 vacancies alongside 25 open vacancies at the company's Leamington Spa headquarters.

The Bangalore studio has already contributed to Kwalee hits including Blade Forge 3D, Teacher Simulator and Let's be Cops 30, with further titles set to be close to launch. The investment also expands Kwalee's presence in a country fast becoming a core territory for the business. With India accounting for more downloads of its mobile titles than any other country worldwide, the move will bring Kwalee closer to a major player base.

CEO and founder of Kwalee, David Darling CBE said, “It’s incredible to see the brilliant team we have managed to build in Bangalore, in such a short space of time, the vision from the start was for our teams in the UK and India to collaborate as though they were one studio, and even under difficult circumstances we’ve seen the fruits of that with great games and a fundamental contribution from our colleagues in Bangalore.”

“Our projected investment in Kwalee Bangalore over the next five years shows our commitment to continue building this amazing team and to maintain our rapid growth as we build a global team to make global hits. We’re so proud of what’s already been achieved in a disrupted year and we can’t wait to build on this platform.”
