KRAFTON Expands Global Footprint with Integration of Tango Gameworks and Hi-Fi RUSH IP
KRAFTON, Inc. today announced a significant expansion of its global presence by welcoming the esteemed Japanese development studio, Tango Gameworks, into its family. This move marks KRAFTON’s first major investment in the Japanese gaming market and includes the acquisition of rights to Tango Gameworks' celebrated IP, Hi-Fi RUSH.
Founded in 2010, Tango Gameworks has quickly risen to prominence with its critically acclaimed titles, including the rhythm action game Hi-Fi RUSH, the survival horror classics The Evil Within and The Evil Within 2, and the action-adventure game Ghostwire: Tokyo. The studio became part of the Xbox family following ZeniMax’s acquisition by Xbox in 2021.
Hi-Fi RUSH stands as a flagship title for Tango Gameworks, captivating players worldwide with its unique rhythm-action combat mechanics. The game has garnered widespread praise, achieving ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ reviews on Steam and earning several prestigious awards, such as 'Best Animation' at the BAFTA Games Awards, 'Best Audio Design' at The Game Awards, and a Game Developers' Choice Award for 'Best Audio.'
As part of this strategic partnership, KRAFTON plans to collaborate closely with Xbox and ZeniMax to ensure a seamless transition for Tango Gameworks. The talented team at Tango Gameworks will continue to develop the Hi-Fi RUSH IP and explore new creative projects, with KRAFTON’s full support in fostering innovation and delivering fresh, exciting experiences for fans. The existing game catalog, including The Evil Within series, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and the original Hi-Fi RUSH, will remain unaffected.
This integration underscores KRAFTON’s commitment to expanding its global reach and enhancing its portfolio with high-quality, innovative content. The addition of Tango Gameworks aligns with KRAFTON's mission to push the boundaries of interactive entertainment and deliver top-tier gaming experiences.
