Gamesforum London kicks off October 18 and we here at Audiomob are excited to announce our attendance as featured speakers and moderators for the 'In-Game Audio Ads: The Perfect Value Exchange' panel. Wilfrid Obeng, our CTO and co-founder will join Ivee Feria-Padua, Product Director at Lockwood Publishing, and Phil Rowley, Head of Futures at Omnicom Media Group to share their invaluable insights.

“Gamesforum is undoubtedly the biggest event for the mobile gaming industry. It’s a fantastic opportunity for developers, advertisers, and publishers to come together and share ideas, concerns, and hopes for the industry's future. This year’s talk in London is one that I’ve personally been looking forward to for some time now. Especially with Audiomob being built upon the idea of creating a better ecosystem not just for the advertisers and devs but also for the players and how they perceive ads in the gaming space .” Wilfrid Obeng, CTO & Co-Founder of Audiomob.

Wait, who is Audiomob?

Founded by ‘Forbes 30 Under 30’ awardees Christian Facey and Wilfrid Obeng,

We’re a leading global adtech solution provider. Our patented technology allows game developers to monetize their mobile games by seamlessly integrating audio ads. With audio ads, developers tap into a fresh source of incremental revenue without disrupting the player's gaming experience, something traditional ad solutions such as video can't do.

With the backing of VC investors such as Google, LightSpeed Ventures, and Makers Fund, we provide our audio ad solution globally to many talented game developers including our panel peers Lockwood Publishing.

How audio ads make a difference

As the appetite for mobile gaming continues to grow, in-game ads are steadily being recognized as a potent way to reach an already hyper-engaged audience. In-game audio ads can be integrated in a way that feels organic, adds value to the game and enhances the player's experience. In-game ads can even be used to provide player-requested features, like during a collaboration with Lockwood Publishing.

In July 2023, we partnered with Lockwood Publishing to bring in-game audio ads to their metaverse mobile game, Avakin Life. By integrating our Rewarded ad format, players received 10 gems (the in-game currency) after listening to an ad. Alternatively, ads could be skipped if the player does not want to engage with an ad at that moment. What we discovered early on during our research is that Avakin's player base was already asking for such a feature with an already majority positive view on in-game ads.

This was reflected in the data where our Rewarded ad format had a very high listen-through rate of 99%, indicating strong player engagement with ads. Overall Lockwood Publishing saw a revenue uplift of 10%, with no negative impact on player retention. This is just one of many ways in which in-game audio ads can be used to enhance gameplay for players.

“We were looking for options that were less intrusive than the typical interstitial ad format. When Audiomob pitched audio ads to us, we felt it was a good fit, since a big part of Avakin Life is auditory experiences like music festivals and listening parties. Positive feedback from our users validated this.” Ivee Feria-Padua, Product Director at Lockwood Publishing.
