Here are 5 things to do in Hamburg to enhance your Gamesforum experience from the local perspective of Gamelight’s team based in Hamburg. Gamelight has made a significant impact on the industry with the exceptional performance of its rewarded mobile marketing platform. Let’s roll and enjoy Hamburg with the locals!

1) Experience the lively and vibrant nightlife of Reeperbahn

As Hamburg's renowned red-light district, Reeperbahn is the go-to destination for an exciting night out. Decorated with neon lights and with its fantastic selection of clubs, bars, and live music venues, you'll be spoilt for choice.

Fun Fact: Reeperbahn is where The Beatles began their epic journey! They called it home for several years, rocking the stage at various clubs in the area. Hamburg's influence catapulted their fame, launching their incredible musical career!

2) The perfect city centre stroll formula from Gamelight’s co-founder Günay Aliyeva: Mönkeberstrasse -> Jungfernstieg -> Alster

Start your walking tour near the Hamburger Central station and walk along charming Mönckebergstraße, one of the main shopping streets in Hamburg. Once you reach the historic neo-Renaissance Hamburger Rathaus (City Hall), head towards the nearby Jungfernstieg, a stylish promenade on the shore of the Inner Alster Lake. Continue your walk around the lake or just grab an ice cream and enjoy the scenery.

3) Feel the vibe of the vibrant port city in Landungsbrücken Piers and Fischmarkt

Stroll along the riverside promenade at Landungsbrücken, enjoy fresh sandwiches and the vibrant atmosphere of passing boats. If you're in town on a Sunday morning, you've got to check out the legendary Hamburger Fischmarkt. They sell fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers, fish, souvenirs and whatnot! Each vendor is an entertainer that outshouts each other to attract customers.

Fun fact: Fischmarkt is the most popular choice in Hamburg for an after-party! Many people head there on Sunday morning after a fun night out in Reeperbahn or Sternschanze. Inside an old building by the riverside, you'll find live music, DJs, refreshing drinks, tasty snacks, and plenty of joyful locals enjoying themselves.

4) Enjoy the famous water light concert in Planten un Blomen

If you are outdoorsy, take a stroll in a huge botanical garden in the city's centre. Free water and light shows are accompanied by live music from May to October. Grab a bite to eat and settle on the lawn by the lake to enjoy the show. The program varies every day, from classical music to tango or jazz.

5) Check out the top of Elbphilarmonie to enjoy a breathtaking view of Hamburg

Imagine this: Futuristic Elbphilarmonie stands atop an old warehouse in Hamburg's lively port! It resembles gentle waves, honouring the city's maritime spirit. But there's more! The hall's observation deck offers a mind-blowing view of Hamburg! Pop down to the friendly box office, grab a free ticket, and make your way up to be wowed!

Fun fact: Elbphilarmonie was supposed to take 3 years and €241 million to build, but it took a decade and a whopping €866 million. When the construction was over in 2017, the city government wrote "Fertig" (Finished) in huge letters on its facade. Everyone was ecstatic that it was eventually done!

So pack your bags, and get ready for the Hamburg adventure. We can’t wait to see you there, and if you are looking for more things to do in Hamburg, catch Gamelight’s team at Gamesforum Hamburg on 14-15 June. They surely have some more aces up their sleeve!
